Custom apparel is a great way to express your personal style and make a statement. Whether it’s a custom t-shirt, hoodie, or jacket, these items are often treasured possessions that can last for years if properly cared for. In this article, we’ll share some tips on how to care for your custom apparel so it lasts.

Read the Care Instructions:

Yes I know.. this is a no brainer, but the first and most important step in custom apparel care is to read the care instructions. These instructions are typically found on a tag or label attached to the garment. The care instructions will tell you how to wash, dry, and iron the garment. Make sure you follow these instructions carefully to avoid damaging your garments. If your garment doesn’t have or you’re unsure of the wash instructions, here are some simple rules of thumb to follow..

Wash Your Custom Apparel Inside Out:

When it’s time to wash your custom apparel, turn it inside out before placing it in the washing machine. This will help protect any printed or embroidered designs on the garment from fading or peeling. Wash your custom apparel in cold water to prevent shrinking and color bleeding.

Use Mild Detergent:

It’s important to use a mild detergent when washing your custom apparel. Harsh detergents can damage the fabric and cause the colors to fade. Choose a detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics or opt for a mild, fragrance-free detergent.

Avoid Fabric Softeners and Bleach:

Fabric softeners and bleach can also damage the fabric and cause the colors to fade. Avoid using these products when washing your custom apparel. Instead, use a vinegar rinse to soften the fabric and remove any residual detergent.

Air Dry Your Clothes:

After washing your custom apparel, avoid using the dryer. Heat can damage the fabric and cause the garment to shrink or lose its shape. Instead, air dry your custom apparel by laying it flat on a towel or hanging it up to dry. If you need to speed up the drying process, use a fan or a gentle, cool air setting on your dryer.

Iron Your Custom Apparel Inside Out:

Before ironing your custom apparel, turn it inside out to protect any printed or embroidered designs on the garment. This will help protect any printed or embroidered designs on the garment from damage. Use a low heat setting and avoid ironing over any designs or logos.

Store Your Garments Properly:

When you’re not wearing your clothes, proper custom apparel care includes storing it properly to help it last longer. Fold the garment neatly and place it in a drawer or on a shelf. Avoid hanging your custom apparel, as this can cause it to stretch out of shape.

In conclusion, taking care of your clothing is just as important as choosing the right design or style. Proper custom apparel care can ensure that your pieces last for years, providing you with many opportunities to showcase your personal style and make a statement. So take care of your clothing, and it will take care of you!
